Welcome to Tideswell Theatre
Tideswell Theatre was established in 2002 to bring great theatre, music, dance and comedy to the village, run by Tideswell Community Players, who have been performing plays in the village since 1930. Despite our name, we don’t have our own venue; but we are lucky to have a range of possible venues in the village from the large and impressive to the small and intimate. We are able to choose the most appropriate venue for the event.
As Tideswell Theatre, it is a leading promoter for the rural touring scheme, Live and Local, bringing professional theatre, dance, music and comedy to the village since 2002 as well as contracting directly with performers.
This website contains up-to-the-minute news about forthcoming productions. In time we’ll add photos from our long history of performances in the village stretching right back to 1930.
We’re always looking out for more archive photos so make contact now if you have any.
There's a show coming soon!
With support from Tideswell Theatre, Ruth, a fan of the band after their recent gig at Biggin has invited the rather wonderful Harp & a Monkey to come and play us some fine tunes.
The evening, organised by Ruth for 27th November at 7:30pm in Tideswell Church, will also have pie available (meat and veggie options, gluten free by advance request only, and no vegan this time). There will be a cash only bar, but with option to add to ticket and food price.
Peak Sounds will be showcasing their lovely soundscape. Created from over 300 sounds submitted from residents of four villages of the Peak District, Tideswell included. Followed by a little more music, and if you have had enough to drink, a little jigging in the aisles.
St John the Baptist Church - the wonderful Cathedral of the Peak.
Doors & bar open on Saturday 27th November at 19:00.
Tickets available www.ticketsource.co.uk/tideswelltheatre or through the button at the top of this page
